Compassion....

Earlier today, I ran out to get a few groceries before the "big" snow/ice storm that is projected for tomorrow. First, I hit Walmart and then headed to our local grocery store for meat. {I DO NOT buy meat from WM} Anyway, I turned into the parking lot and was aggrivated that I could not find a parking spot. I drove around for a few minutes and decided to leave. I pulled out and then something told me I needed to turn around & finish my shopping before I took Rylee to ballet.

As I am hurrying through the store, I spotted this man {about my age} with two small kids. I notice he had a small limp and seemed happy but I didn't pay them any mind and kept shopping. After I loaded my cart with what I needed, I headed to the check out. . . . only to find a long line of people. I stood in one line for a few minutes and decided to check out the line next to me. It only had one person....it was the man & his kids. He didn't have much in his cart....milk, a cake mix, icing, a candle and each child had a frosted cookie each. While checking out, the clerk handed each child their cookie and they were so excited. They were holding the cookies so proud! When it was time to check out, the clerk gave him his total {$9.25} and he looked a little concerned. He dug into his pocket and gave her $4.00 in change and tried to pay the rest with his debit card.

The clerk swiped the card twice and each time it was declined. He looked heartbroken. He had the look on his face that said, "How can I tell my children they can't have their cookies?" In the most softest voice, he told the clerk, "Ok, I am going to step over here and see if I have enough change for the balance." They walked to the service desk and I saw him digging through his pockets. I was heartbroken for this man. His bill was only $9.25. . . . he didn't have the money to buy milk for his kids or even a simple cake mix.

The clerk waited and finally I just told her to add his stuff to my bill. She did, I paid and walked out. I got in my car and cried. Cried for the man who didn't have money to buy a few simple groceries for his kids, cried because I had my cart full of meat, eggs & snacks for my kids. Cried because this happens every day and today was my day to witness it. I truly believe GOD wanted me to finish my shopping so I could help this man.

To the man at HARPS today, you changed my life today &
I hope you and your kids enjoyed the cake tonight.

Go out and do something nice for someone. It will do you some good!

Until next time. . . . . xoxo

Where I Shop

Kelly's Korner is doing SHOW US YOUR LIFE FRIDAY and today's theme is- Where you shop. So, I am going to let y'all know a few of my favorite places. :)

While I do love T.J. Maxx, Target & Dillards.....there are a few places back home {Texas} that I love.

For all you Texan's, you know about First Monday Trade Days in Canton. I get a lot of my funky t-shirts from my favorite vendors. The first one is My Tiara Fits
I have this shirt & LOVE it!

The second is Annette's Touch of Class http://www.annettestouchofclass.com/.
I always get a ton of compliments on this t-shirt! ha!

I have two daughters so of course, I am always shopping for them. I do shop at all the regular stores - Gymboree, Gap and Target.

BUT

Here are a few of my favorites.
My AWSOME bow lady & friend, Mica! She owns 2 Cute Bowtique.
I have been buying bows from here since I was pregnant with Rylee.

I also LOVE 3 Monkey's! They are a little boutique here in NWA.
They are a little pricey but sometimes have great sales.

Those are just a few of many places I love to shop!

Until next time . . . .xoxo

I Hope You Dance....

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I Hope You Dance.......

The Bachelor

I am an official reality tv junkie. Every season I swear I am not going to watch The Bachelor. . . . . but for some reason, I get sucked back in. This year, the BACHELOR is from Dallas. . . . .woohoo! I have to watch, right? Last nights episode was great. I say great because he let go crazy Michelle. If you have been watching The Bachelor, you know who I am talking about. I kind of wanted him to keep her around to see what she would say/do next but I am sure he was tired of her games. I hope next week is even better. :)

Until next time . . . . .xoxo

Happy New Year!

Wow! Where did 2009 go? If it's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that days are long but the years go by fast. The last ten years have been such a rollercoaster ride for me. There were a lot of sad times but a ton of great ones as well. I am hoping that the next ten will be smoothe and happy! Like most people, I always make a NEW YEARS RESOLUTION list..... that I don't stick to. Let's face it, who does? I may start off on the right track but somewhere down the hill I veer off the path. So, this year, I have decided to make a NEW YEARS WISH LIST. That way, if I get off the path, it's ok, I won't feel so bad. ha!

Here is my WISH list for 2010:

~ Be healthy! Yes, I need to lose 20lbs. This is the time to get off my butt and do it.... I want to feel good about myself, again.
~ Be a better mom & wife.
~ Get organized. My closet is o-u-t of control!
~ Cook more....haha, ok....that may be reaching too far! ;)
~ Be a better friend, sister/sister in law and daughter.
~ Do more activites with Rylee. Since Landry has been here, she has taken the back seat and I feel bad for her.

My biggest wish for 2010....

~ Is that God blesses Michael & Sarah with a baby! They deserve a little piece of heaven!

So, there is my NEW YEARS WISH LIST. Hope everyone has a Happy New year and a blessed 2010.

I will leave you with a little new years quote......

Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right. ~ Oprah

Until next time..... xoxo
