Happy New Year

Wishing you the happiest of New Years! xoxo

So long 2013...

Image
Mercy! I cannot believe today is the last day of the year. Where does the time go? When I was younger, it seemed like time stood still. Now that I'm a momma, it seems time is traveling at lightening speed. I just would like it to slow down a bit.  A few changes happened in 2013. The biggest was our move back to Texas! Don't get me wrong, I love Texas, always will, but I miss my second family in NWA. Yes! Miss them like crazy. Not a day goes by that I don't think about all the wonderful friends I left behind. Note: VISIT said friends in 2014! Soon. ;) And speaking of 2014, it's right around the corner. In just a few hours it'll be a new year, new changes, and new beginnings. I'm ready to face the new year head on, with excitement, and joy. I have a feeling more changes are right around the corner.  So long 2013, and welcome 2014. I'm ready.

Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

Sweet Landry

My little priss fractured her wrist last Thursday evening. Boo! We arrived at the ER (yes, she did it after urgent care closed) at 10:00, and didn't leave until 3am. She fell asleep at 10:30, so I just sat there, watching all the excitement that goes on in the ER. AND it was Friday the 13th- extra excitement! For real, there was some crazy business going on! ;)                                           Any who, today she saw the orthopedic doc. It's for sure a break near her growth plate, but the good news is, it's a clean break! She got a hard cast today. A Barney purple one. I tried to get her to choose red to match all her christmas outfits, but no, she insisted on purple. Oh well!

WOW

Some of you may have seen this blog post  circulating around Facebook. I happened to see it one day, and decided to read it. WOW. All I can say is WOW.  The post hit home. I often find myself being too hard on Rylee. I think it's because she is my first born, she is 8, and I expect too much from her. I expect her to know how to do things properly. If Landry cries, I automatically go to Rylee, and ask her what she did. If she spills her breakfast or dinner, I get angry. If she doesn't brush her hair, or her teeth fast enough, I get angry. I expect her to rush, and it's not fair. The other morning I was irritated that her scarf lint was all over her black coat. I mean, how could I send her to school with her coat looking like she rolled around in dog hair?  She apologized. And for what? It's not like she did anything wrong. It was lint from her cashmere scarf.    The same day, I came across this post. My heart broke. I am her mother. I am not supposed to be a bully.

Our week, so far!

Image
We had a great Thanksgiving break at Disney World. I mean, Turkey day with the mouse, what is better than that? ;) We got home Sunday, and on Monday, I was at urgent care with Rylee. Tested positive for strep. Yep! That's right. Home from vacay for two days, and she has strep. Tuesday - urgent care with Landry....YEP! She also has strep.   Both are on antibiotics, and hopefully momma will not catch it. ;)  Hope y'all are having a great week so far.

Thanksgiving.......at Disney World

Image
We spent Thanksgiving at Disney World, and just had the best time. The girls LOVED it. Last time we went to DW, Landry was 9 months old. . . . . . and slept the majority of the time. ha! This time around, she had a blast.  Take a peek at some the photos from our trip. Enjoy! Landry's all time favorite is Minnie. As soon as she saw Minnie....she said, "Hi Minnie, it's me, Landry!" Awww, melt this mommas heart.  That's a wrap! So long Disney World, see you again soon!

Landry's Thanksgiving Feast at school

Image
The Thursday before Thanksgiving, Landry's preschool had a feast for the 4 year old class. It was SUPER cute. So thankful I was able to attend. They made super cute little burlap placemats, and adorable little outfits, complete with a paper bonnet.  My little turkey before school.                                                  at her feast!

10 Days to go until we see Minnie & Mickey.... and all their friends! Yes, we are spending Thanksgiving at Disney World this year. I know, crazy, huh? ;)A lot of people I know vacation during Thanksgiving break, so I thought we'd try it this year. That way, no one can get mad because we didn't stay at their house long enough, or stop by and visit. ha!  Last trip to DW, Landry was 9 months old. I think at 4, she is going to L-O-V-E it! I cannot wait to see her little face light up with excitement! Of course, Rylee is {or she thinks she is} ready to ride some roller coasters, and some of the "bigger" rides this year. Can't wait to see how that goes. ;)

Shop LuLu's Closet

Hi friends! Just a heads up...  If you're looking for cute outfits for next spring/summer, I just posted a few things of Landry's on Instagram. Mostly size 5.  I also posted a few of Rylee's things. Mostly M or 7/8. Keep checking back, I will add more as I clean out their closets! ;) You can find the cuteness here:  @shopluluscloset

The Best Thing Ever

Image
OMG! Y'all! Look at this tape I came across at Lowe's!  They have all sorts of different ones, but the best one I found was chevron. CHEVRON! Amazing! I wish I would've had this a few weeks ago.... free handing chevron is not fun. ;)

Garage Sale

Image
Before I had kids, I use to love having a garage sale. I'd have it Fri & Sat, and usually ended up making good money. I haven't had a garage sale in years, and the thought of having one makes me ill. With two kids, it's too much work. Plus, they can sniff out toys like border patrol dogs can sniff out drugs. If they find something in the sale bin, they F-R-E-A-K out. Like really freak out. You'd think I was selling their dog or something. ;) Last year I discovered a new way to have a garage sale......via Facebook! Genius! Most cities have several garage sale sites, and I think it's the best idea ever. You list what you want to sell, someone offers to buy, and you meet them to deliver the item. {in a safe, public place, of course!} Super easy!  Now, I still a love a good garage sale, I just don't have to have them anymore. ;) Look up your city on FB. I'm sure you can find one that's close, and I bet if you're anything like me,  you h

Pumpkin Patch

Image
Today, Landry's class went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch! It was a lot of fun. The kids seemed to enjoy it. There were several stations, a hay ride, pumpkin painting, and then a picnic lunch! The weather was perfect, and I'm so thankful I get to go on these little trips with her.

Weekend in Dallas

Image
Last weekend Landry & I were in Dallas. We went to celebrate my niece, Shay's 5th birthday. Despite the chilly weather, Landry had a blast! I think I saw her maybe twice the entire party. Ha! Sunday, we went to my dads, and hung out most of the day. The girls enjoyed riding the 4 wheeler, talking to my step moms parrot, and feeding the donkeys.                                                                                                                                                                               We had a great weekend! How about y'all?

Happy Birthday!

Image
Today is my niece's birthday. I cannot believe  she is  5 already!  She came into our family at 22 months old, but it seems  like she's been here forever.  Happy 5th birthday, Shay! We love you!

Lately

Oh my goodness - can you believe tomorrow is October 1st? Thanksgiving, then Christmas will be here before you know it.  Speaking of Christmas. I realize some of you like to buy Christmas decor early, but I am not one of those gals who thinks Hobby Lobby putting out their Christmas decor in July is fun. Yesterday, I noticed Target  had an aisle or two of Christmas decor. I mean, can we get through Thanksgiving first? One holiday at a time, and please lets go in order. {end rant} ha!  Not much going on. Just busy with school, Rylee's dance, and enjoying the cooler temps.  Happy fall y'all!

Lost

Let's be real - The minute I found out we were moving to Arkansas, I started to countdown the days until we moved back HOME , which is Texas. It's not like I've never lived anywhere else but Texas, but this was different. I had just had a baby. I didn't want to move away from family, and rob them of time with their niece/granddaughter/great-granddaughter. It was hard to say good-bye. One of the hardest days of my life.  We moved to Northwest Arkansas on Mother's Day of 2006. We were only supposed to be there for 2 years. I figured, 2 years would fly by. I could do 2 years. Well,   TWO years turned into 7. Rylee was 9 months old when we moved to NWA. That is the only home she's ever known. Landry was born in NWA. Lots of good things came out of us living in NWA. It was just the three of us, then it became the four of us. Sure our family & friends were back in Texas, but we made it work. We went "home" as often as we could. They came to

Momma Gut

Image
If your a mom, y'all know what I'm talking about. A few weeks ago, I posted about the girls' school. In case you missed it, you can read about it  here.  I was so excited to find a preschool here in SA that fit our needs. I toured it, reserached it, and was beyond happy with my decision. {the school came highly recommened}  Well, that all changed the night of meet the teacher.  It was on a Friday night, so we all loaded up, and headed out to meet Landry's new preschool teacher. We get there, and they didn't have her on the class roster. I go ask the director, and she says, "oh, that is odd, I see her in the computer, and I have all your financial information, but not sure why she's not on the roster?" Ok, so maybe it was a mistake? After even more issues , momma gut started to kick in. You know that feeling when something is just not right? I had that feeling the entire 20 minutes we were there. I was so disapointed. I thought I had found the rig

First Day of School

Image
Tuesday was the first day of school for Landry. I can't believe this time next year, she'll be going to kindergarten. My baby girl is growing up way too fast.

Labor Day Weekend

Image
this past weekend, my brother, SIL, and niece came to visit. We had a great time. The girls loved being together. We hung out, met Doc McStuffins, took a ride on the river walk, and of course ate some great mexican food, and of course, BBQ.  Such a great, relaxing weekend. waiting in line to see Doc. FINALLY! {Landry was SOOO excited} The girls with Doc. River Taxi ride before dinner. 3lb cinnamon roll! Cousins!

1 week down, a lot more to go!

Image
I can't believe the first week of school is over, and we are starting on the second week. Woohoo! I am happy to report that Rylee LOVES her new school. I was a little worried about the transition from public school to private school, but she has done great. She is excited to go, and brags about how much she loves it. SO happy! Have y'all started back to school? If so, how was it?  I hope this year is wonderful for all.

First Day of School

Image
It's that time again. . . . .   Today is the first day of school! I can't believe I have a 3rd grader!

Where did summer go?

Image
I can't believe Rylee starts school in a few short weeks. Where did the summer go? It seemed like it flew by. Both girls are enrolled in school, school supplies, new backpacks & lunch boxes have been purchased, and the only thing left to do is buy Rylee's school uniforms. Can't believe I am on top of it this year. GO me. ;)  I am really excited about Rylee's new school in San Antonio. It's small, and I think she's going to enjoy it. I can't believe my baby will be in 3rd grade! EEEEK! Can't wait for meet the teacher night. I heard she was FAB!  Landry will be going to a new preschool, and she is SUPER excited. It's called Rainbow Station. To be honest, it's not the type of preschool I ever dreamed she'd go to. For the past 3 years, she's gone to KDO at a church. We loved it! She loved it! When we moved here, I searched for the best preschool, and Rainbow Station came highly recommended. I didn't tour them first, because

Rylee

Image
Well, it happened. First broken bone. Four weeks weeks ago, Rylee broke her foot. We went to ortho, and he put her in a walking boot. She couldn't bear any weight on it, and had to use her crutches 24/7. BTW, an 8 year on crutches is a pain in the rear. For real. Well, after 3checks ups & 3 more x-rays, yesterday he decided to put her in a hard cast. GREAT! It's summer in Texas, and she's in a hard cast. She's not happy! No swimming, no dancing, just sitting around, watching TV. BOO! I had a feeling he'd put her in a cast, because after 4 weeks, she was still complaining of pain. I just wish he would've put her in a hard cast from day one - we'd almost be done with it.  Of course, she chose the brightest cast they had - NEON Pink! ;)

4th of July

Hey y'all! Hope everyone had a good Independence Day. We started the day lazy, then ended up at the river walk for dinner. After dinner we headed out to watch fireworks.  Perfect end to the evening. :)
