Last Day of School

Image
eeeeeek! I cannot believe today was the last day of school. This school year has flown by.  Here are my girls  today before school. LOVE them to pieces.   I can't believe my first baby will be in second grade! :) This sweet girl is ready for preschool in the fall. :)

Mother's Day

“But there's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begin.”  I know I have a lot to be grateful for on Mother's Day, my two beautiful daughters,  but there is something missing. MY mom. 1998 is the last year I was able to spend mothers day with her. She passed away in March of the following year. I LOVE spending the day with my girls, but I selfishly wish my mom were here with us.  I often have a hard time with Mother's Day, but for some reason this year was different. I felt at peace all day.  I really enjoyed the day with my girls. They brought me breakfast in bed, and Rylee made me this cute little book at school. It was like a diary about me. SUPER cute. I was tickled at the answers she gave. Sweet girl. After breakfast, Rylee and I ra...

Texas to NWA

Image
Hi ya'll, I'm Amy! I'm a Texas native, born & raised. And now I'm living in NW Arkansas!  We've been here almost 7 years. Seems like we just moved here yesterday!  I miss my family & friends back in Texas like crazy. Although this is "home" now, I still feel out of place at times. I often ask myself, "how in the world did I end up here?" I never thought I'd move out of Texas, away from all my family. BUT life has a funny way of working out. I have two precious daughters, whom I adore,  and I'm a SAHM. Love every minute of it!! While I do love being a SAHM, it does get lonely from time to time. I've met some great friends since moving to NWA, but I feel like I don't see them near enough. I know it's hard with kids & crazy schedules, but I wish we got together more. I need some adult time! ;) I'm a reality TV junkie, diet coke lover, and I LOVE to shop!  What about you? Where ar...

Just a dog?

Image
His name is Dakota. A tiny Yorkie with enough attitude to be a Doberman. he didn't like kids, but he tolerated them. He hated cats, and especially hated the mailman. Even bit the mailman once! More than any of the above, he was a very pampered dog. See, he once belonged to my mom. My mom was a cat person, loved everything about cats. So, when she came home with this tiny fur ball, weighing less than a pound, I was totally shocked! She loved this puppy more than anything. He was good for her. When she got sick, my Nan took care of him, and when she passed away, my brother took him, and has had him ever since. Dakota has been my brother & SIL's baby for 14 years. I thought he was spoiled when my mom had him, but nothing compares to the sweet life he's lived with my brother & SIL. He's been sick {old age related stuff} for a few months, and recently my SIL took him to the vet, to go over options, but this morning, sweet Dakota went to doggie heaven. Not that i...

Mom of two girls

Image
I am a mommy of two precious, outgoing, strong-willed, sassy, girly girls, and I LOVE every second of it. Before I had my first daughter, I knew nothing about raising girls. I have three brothers! I'm definitely a girl girl myself, so when Rylee was born, I was over the moon. The child had more clothes, shoes, and hair bows than I could count. It was ridiculous! ;) When I got pregnant a second time, I secretly hoped for another girl, and I got my wish. Landry had just as many clothes, shoes & bows, and this momma was thrilled to have two daughters. It's so much fun watching them play dress up, and to watch them pretend play with barbies and baby dolls. I LOVE IT!  I keep tossing the idea around of having another baby, and while I would love to have a boy, I'd be over the moon to have another daughter. :) Pure Sass! ;)

Dance Competition #2

Image
Last Saturday, Rylee had a dance competition........ and it was local! ;) The best part of the weekend, some of our family came to watch. My bro & SIL from Dallas drove down up Thursday night, as well as my bro & SIL {and their kids} from Ohio. We had a packed house last weekend, but it was SUPER fun. Rylee's dance company did SUPER at the competition. We are so proud of all the kids. WAY TO GO BAKstage DANCE CO! You ROCKED the house!
