Seven Years

Image
Seven Years ago today, I was up at the crack of dawn, and headed to the hospital to have Rylee. Little did I know, I'd be there ALL day, and ALL night. Yep. I checked in at 5:00 am, and had her at 1:56 am on June 8th. It's really the funniest story. Almost all my family has June birthdays. We have one on the 6th, two on the 8th, two on the 12th, one on the 16th, the 24th, and the 28th. Whew.... See what I mean? When my doctor decided that I didn't need to go past 41 weeks {how generous, huh?}, we talked about induction, and it would either be on the 6th or 7th. Fabulous, I thought. Since my cousin was born on the 6th, and my brother the 8th, I figured the 7th was a great day to have a baby. Since the minute I found out Rylee was due in June, my brother would always say, "don't have that baby on my birthday", or "I just know you're going to have her on my birthday!" It was the family joke for months. June 7th came, and an hour after being ...

Skating Party

Image
Saturday was Rylee's 7th birthday party. A Skating party! Her birthday is not until June 8th, but we will be out of town, so we had her party early. And my other child's birthday is on the 10th, so I have to space them out. I mean, you can't have a joint birthday party with your baby sister, can you? ;)  NOT in this house. ha! The skating party was a lot of fun. I think the kids really enjoyed it.  I was a little nervous at first because the majority of the kids have never skated.....including mine. Well, ok, she's been once, but I was still a nervous wreck. Anyway, by the end of the party, the kids really got the hang of it. Woohoo!  Here are a few photos of the party. It was hard to snap pics while they were skating.  Birthday girl ready to PAR-TAY!  CAKE! Skating! Party favors!  After her party, we headed to the town square to see the hot pink snails. My girls love these snails.  ...

Last Day of School

eeeeeek! I cannot believe today was the last day of school. This school year has flown by.  Here are my girls  today before school. LOVE them to pieces.   I can't believe my first baby will be in second grade! :) This sweet girl is ready for preschool in the fall. :)

Mother's Day

“But there's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begin.”  I know I have a lot to be grateful for on Mother's Day, my two beautiful daughters,  but there is something missing. MY mom. 1998 is the last year I was able to spend mothers day with her. She passed away in March of the following year. I LOVE spending the day with my girls, but I selfishly wish my mom were here with us.  I often have a hard time with Mother's Day, but for some reason this year was different. I felt at peace all day.  I really enjoyed the day with my girls. They brought me breakfast in bed, and Rylee made me this cute little book at school. It was like a diary about me. SUPER cute. I was tickled at the answers she gave. Sweet girl. After breakfast, Rylee and I ra...

Texas to NWA

Image
Hi ya'll, I'm Amy! I'm a Texas native, born & raised. And now I'm living in NW Arkansas!  We've been here almost 7 years. Seems like we just moved here yesterday!  I miss my family & friends back in Texas like crazy. Although this is "home" now, I still feel out of place at times. I often ask myself, "how in the world did I end up here?" I never thought I'd move out of Texas, away from all my family. BUT life has a funny way of working out. I have two precious daughters, whom I adore,  and I'm a SAHM. Love every minute of it!! While I do love being a SAHM, it does get lonely from time to time. I've met some great friends since moving to NWA, but I feel like I don't see them near enough. I know it's hard with kids & crazy schedules, but I wish we got together more. I need some adult time! ;) I'm a reality TV junkie, diet coke lover, and I LOVE to shop!  What about you? Where ar...
