Tonsils....do you have any?

Image
Since December, Rylee has tested positive for strep throat 7 times. Yes, you read that correctly, 7 TIMES! Bless her heart. Last Friday, we had our appointment with the ENT. {Ear, Nose, Throat doctor for those of you asking} The appointment went really well, and as expected, she suggested we get rid of Rylee's tonsils. I knew it was coming, it's just hard hearing it out loud.  No one ever wants their little one to have surgery, but sometimes you've got to do what's best. She's been so sick with strep, and has missed so much school because of it, I think it's the best thing to do. The ENT went over the procedure, and assured me that she was very conservative when it came to removing tonsils, and she definitely thinks it's time they come out.    And besides, you don't need them anyway.  ;) I really liked how she talked to Rylee about the procedure and explained to her {in kid terms} what would happen, every step of the way. Rylee didn't seem scare

an early BIRTHDAY celebration!

Image
So, technically Rylee's birthday is not until June 8th, but with it being a summer birthday, we decided to have her birthday party a little early. {Also, the majority of my family members have a birthday in June, so our June is kind of packed - ha!}  Anyway, we had her party at Glitterbox. It's a super duper cute nail salon/boutique just for girls. The girls had a blast. Rylee loved getting pampered with all her little friends. It was one of the easiest birthday parties I've put together. All I had to bring was the cake, drinks and goody bags. The girls at Glitterbox did the rest. :)  Here are a few photos from our day! Enjoy!  Of course, we will have a small family celebration on  her actual birthday!

Sneak Peak . . . .

I think she needs a paci {or nene, as she calls it} intervention.  Perhaps she knows the PACI FAIRY is coming soon. :)

Congratulations, John!

Today, my baby brother graduates from college. WOW! In the last 7 years or so, he's had many challenges in his life, and he's overcome them to get to where he is today.  John, today is the day. . . . you will walk across that stage and all your hopes and dreams will fall into place.  Stand tall and BE PROUD , you've earned it!  Congratulations, John! I am so proud you.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day 1999 - the first Mother's Day without my mom.  Mother's Day 2006 - My FIRST Mother's Day as a mom, and the day I said good-bye to my family. It was the day we drove off into the night and made our way to our new home in Northwest Arkansas.  Mother's Day 2010 - I was the proud mommy to not only my first born, but my second. LOVE! Blessed with two gorgeous  girls to share this Mother's Day.  Spending Mother's Day without my mom is hard, but I know we'll get to do it again, in time. I wish she were here to spend it with  my girls and I, but I know she's looking down on us.   I'm so thankful for the time we did have together and that's something I'll cherish forever. I hope she's proud of me . "A thousand words won't bring you back I know because I've tried, neither will a million tears I know because I've cried."   Happy Mother's Day mom, I miss you more than words can say.  To Rylee &

THE TOOTH FAIRY! Rylee's tooth has been loose since December. Her daddy has been trying to pull it for a few weeks and she wouldn't let him. Now, if you know me, loose teeth gross me out. Like gross me out to the point where I want to throw up. Lovely thought, huh? Friday morning we were running late, so we had breakfast on the way to school. As Rylee bit into her french toast stick, she screamed and said her tooth hurt. So, I had her open her mouth and all I saw was blood. Now, I'm thinking the tooth came out and she swallowed it. UGH! So, I had her take a drink of her juice {to remove the blood} and the tooth was still there. DANG! So, she tries to finish her food and she's having a hard time eating. Well, I knew I couldn't send her to school with her mouth hurting, I mean, how would she eat lunch? My first instinct was to take her back home, and wait until Kasey came home from Los Angeles that afternoon so he could pull it. HA! Then reality set in, I couldn'

A Little Rock Weekend!

Image
Friday evening, we headed to Little Rock for Rylee's last dance competition of the year. The best part of the weekend, our family in Texas came too! Rylee had no idea they were coming and she was SUPER surprised. :) The competition was ALL day Saturday. We started our morning early. We got up, showered, did hair/make-up and headed to breakfast. After breakfast, we headed to the competition and we were there for 13+ hours. YES, it was a long, tiring day, but we had a blast. The girls did so good. Lots of awards and trophies. I was super proud of my tiny dancer. She gave it all she had and danced her little heart out.  WAY TO GO BAKstage Dance Company Sweethearts!  Y'all did great and made us proud.  Sunday, we slept in and did a little shopping before heading home. It was such a great weekend with family. Hope y'all had a great weekend as well.
